About SNTGA

Serbian National Tourist Guide Association is a non-for-profit tourist guide association. A relatively young association was formed in August 2010 as a group of professional tourist guides with a mission to protect our profession and gather qualified tourist guides ready to constantly improve their skills and knowledge. At the moment we have around 60 individual and three group members, with the firm intention to grow.
Our activities are mainly supported and financed through various projects aimed at increasing the know-how level of our members, thus enhancing the image of the entire profession. For this reason, all our members go through practical training (please note that this kind of training is not obligatory in our country in order to get a license).
The projects that we implemented so far are: “The Creation of Cultural Thematic Routes in Novi Sad and Petrovaradin fortress” in 2011 (supported by Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Tourism Organization of Novi Sad) and “The Organization of Regional Meeting for Tourist Guides from Vojvodina and Serbia” in 2012, 2016 and 2019. “The Creation of Cultural Thematic Routes in Novi Sad and Petrovaradin fortress” led to the creation of more sophisticated products for tourists, and the series of Regional Meetings allowed us to expand network within the region, further promoting our activities and ideas. Apart from before mentioned, we have carried out many training sessions financed through local community or municipality projects around Serbia.
In addition, in 2011 we have organized the first WFTGA HOT training in Serbia which was very successful.
Since our establishment, our association is a full WFTGA member. We had our first delegate at the WFTGA Convention 2011 in Tallinn, Estonia. Since 2011 we have been present at every following convention.
